Portrait of Brett Payne, founder of 10X Enterprises

From franchise operations to founder freedom

Brett Payne is the founder of 10X Enterprises, an entrepreneur, franchise-development executive, and hands-on business operator based in Springfield, Missouri.

His professional experience spans software leadership, international franchise operations, business development, entrepreneurship, and operational management. He served as Director of US and International Franchise Operations for Classic Rock Coffee, founded the Contender Esports franchise concept, and served as Regional Vice President at United Franchise Group.

Today, Brett also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Mr. Electric of Southwest Missouri. This is a separate executive role where he puts many of the operational leadership, accountability, management systems, and business-improvement principles he teaches through 10X into practice.

His consulting philosophy is straightforward: businesses become more scalable when owners replace personal dependency with documented processes, repeatable training, capable leaders, operational visibility, and carefully implemented technology.

Through 10X Enterprises, Brett helps entrepreneurs build businesses designed to operate beyond the founder's constant daily involvement.

Mr. Electric of Southwest Missouri is Brett's separate executive role. It is not a client, affiliate or partner of 10X Enterprises, and its mention here does not imply endorsement of 10X by Mr. Electric, Neighborly or its ownership.

The Franchise Freedom Blueprint

Cover of The Franchise Freedom Blueprint by Brett Payne — How to Build, Launch, and Scale a Franchise System Without Becoming the Bottleneck.

How to Build, Launch, and Scale a Franchise System Without Becoming the Bottleneck

Published in 2025, Brett Payne's book explores how business owners can turn their knowledge, operating standards, and everyday processes into systems that others can learn and operate.

The book covers franchise readiness, legal foundations, training, franchise development, network management, international expansion, and long-term succession.

Its central principle extends beyond franchising: a business becomes more independent of its founder when its systems, people, and operations are intentionally designed to work without constant owner intervention.
